Letterpress Nightmares

Pop-up book designed to fit into a box with an object inside. The inspiration for this is from the countless hours that would be spent cleaning up other individuals’ messes in the letterpress studio. The nightmares are recreated through pop-ups in a book using an accordion style biding with a laminated hardcover. I created the pattern by running the paper through a press multiple times shifting the paper slightly every time. I then adhered the paper to the handmade clamshell box with a magnetic latch. A drawer was added as an additional element that held some type that was pulled from my “Hell Bucket” for an added effect. The box itself is roughly the size of my hand.
